The vote is only about 65 years late and short of what it should be - full status of a state.
As to the few [and I mean few!] who voted NO! :poketongue:
To the 40 or so who voted by not voting, they are afraid of the disapproval of the USA [the EMPIRE] in most cases.
Well, the USA and Israel got what they LONG deserved - the world slapping them in their faces.
The Palestinians have long been victims of a kind of apartheid and forced refugees from their own land and homes....many killed and tortured; others jailed and denied work and decent lives. As someone who is Jewish and as the nephew of the man who coined the word 'genocide', it pains me NO end to see some of my own kith doing to others a milder form of what was done to them - and using that as some kind of 'justification'. I do, however, think that things are turning against Israel of late and even their nukes won't let them continue this much longer. I will rejoice when the settlements are all torn down and the Palestinians get their homeland and rights and freedom back. Labeling them as 'terrorists' is one of the cruelest and most ironic tricks - were not the Ergun 'terrorists' to the British and others when they fought for their homeland of Israel. Now Palestine can take Israel to the ICC and I hope they do fast as they can muster.
If, as likely, it turns out that Arafat was murdered with Polonium and the Israelis supplied it and had a hand in it, world opinion at this point will so turn against Israel they will have to eat their own nukes and stop the apartheid. It is NO accident of history that when South Africa was actively racist and had full-on apartheid, Israel was one of its main arms suppliers and friends.
To the vote, my thoughts are
