According to Lane's Rush to Judgement (p.355), Bill Shelley told the FBI Lovelady was seated on the entrance steps in front of him at the time of the shooting. One would think if the Warren Commission wanted to put this issue to bed they would ask Shelley whether Lovelady jumped to his feet but they never asked Shelley about Lovelady's posture.

A point well taken. Bearing in mind that the TSBD Building doorway area image, shown in the background of the Altgens photograph taken from in front of the JFK limo, has a noticeable degree of angle. And, it appears to me that Doorway Man quite possibly had been setting down on the steps, but may have indeed "jumped up" at the sound of gunfire. That possibility, especially when added to other evidence, strongly indicates Doorway Man to be Billy Nolan Lovelady. Based on the knowledge needed to achieve a GED diploma from HCC at the age of 42, I do believe that there is at least a 50% probability that DM is BNL.
