I agree. But only at the Strategy of Tension level.
There is absolutely zero chance of getting guns out of American society.
In Europe, there's no cultural history of private gun ownership, and the vast majority of adults do not own a firearm.
In America, gun ownership is considered a constitutional right, and the vast majority of adults do own a firearm.
In addition, many American gun owners believe they have the right to shoot anyone who tries to take their gun away.
True Anarchists believe in a version of the Strategy of Tension, because they argue - loosely - that out of societal breakdown will come a better, freer, society. This is why many Anarchists voted for Thatcher, not because they believed in any of her policies but because they believed those policies would generate maximum tension and social disorder.
For Gladio, the aim of the Strategy of Tension is to create fear, which it is believed will lead to a public clamour for greater martial and legal controls.
The Militias in 80s and 90s America were a fantastic diversion. McVeigh's Elohim City was infiltrated by all sorts of agents provocateur. Indeed, so many that probably noone knew the master script. And it didn't matter. Only Chaos generating Carnage generating Fear mattered.
Attempting to limit gun ownership in America is a perfect Strategy of Tension play.
