Quote:n releasing these memos, the men and women of the CIA have assurances from both myself, and from Attorney General Holder, that we will protect all who acted reasonably and relied upon legal advice from the Department of Justice that their actions were lawful. The Attorney General has assured me that these individuals will not be prosecuted and that the Government will stand by them.
This suggests to me that there are prosecutions in the wind.
But it goes without saying that the truly guilty, Cheney and Bush and some top dogs in the Pentagon and Langley will be free from fear. They would've made damn sure that the legal fig-leaf from the then Attorney General was securely locked in their wall safe before giving the go ahead.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
