Lest we forget the shameful history of the Vatican and numerous Catholic priests in running the ratlines which enabled Nazi war criminals to escape from Europe to countries such as..... Argentina.

The Catholic Church and right-wing miltary dictatorships have been natural bedfellows for at least a century.

In South America, this was challenged by Liberation Theology.

And so the cardinals and the bishops betrayed the priests who thought Jesus was on the side of the poor, and grassed them out to horror, torture, murder.

At the hands of fascists.

I do wonder about this too. His parents are Italian. As are many in Argentina. He also speaks fluent German and studied in Germany for many years at a theological college. So many Germans found their way to Argentina after the war via the Ratlines. And lived there safely with the protection of the Catholic church and sections of the deep state. In the previous articles I posted it claims Bergoglio is a member since 1972 of the Iron Guard. This is a fascist paramilitary organization with close links to the church and military.

Yup.

I've seen those claims as well.

We need to know more about Bergoglio's family, and how he progressed in the corrupt Argentine church to such key positions.

The Ratlines are important at another level too.

They reveal that the Vatican and Catholic priests were playing a long and amoral game, where the fascist attitude towards discipline, order, authority knowing best, authority being essentially unchallengable, are core values.
