Well, I'm impressed. I began transcribing this article not long after getting it (yesterday, at this writing). I've transcribed a hell of a lot of stuff over the years and I'm totally sick of it, so I was taking the piecemeal approach of a column or so at a time. You've saved me some work.
Richard Dudman is apparently still alive. According to an item I found via Google he just retired last summer, at the age of 94.

This article makes only a passing reference to the assassination.
According to the linked article, Dudman was held captive in Cambodia for 40 days in 1970 and later wrote a book about the experience. Wrote a few others, too.
