David Guyatt Wrote:Coming late to this discussion, and too lazy to read 44 pages, my question (and sorry if it's been asked before) is this:Ah, but David, that is because they actually want information from the other prisoners. And they want to terrorise the 'terrorists' about what can happen to them if they don't play the Empire's game. The very last thing they want is OBL spilling the beans on all their good work together over the decades. That is on a need to know basis and the pop up Osama doesn't need to know any more and we don't need to know about him from him. We are only allowed to know about him from them. There is only one official truth after all. And it was all done very respectfully and in accordance with the traditional Muslim burial at sea...so they say...
If you have an unarmed Bin Laden in your sights why shoot him? Why not capture the top honcho of al Qaeda, rendition his ass back to Guantanamo and bleed him of every single ounce of information his has, all the top people's whereabouts, safe houses, funding providers, planned operations etc etc?
The US do this of so many other alleged al Qaeda members why not him? Why top him and dump him in the sea of forgetfulness? Frankly, it does't make any sort of sense. At least as the story and his legend stands.
In fact, it's complete bollocks.
