Donald Gibson's two books are the best I've ever read on the JFK case.
He points a very distinct finger at who was behind this murder, and it wasn't Lyndon Johnson, or the CIA, or Texas oil, or the Mob, or anti-Castro Cubans, or "the government." Responsible: the eastern, blue-blood establishment, activating assets throughout the country and the world to get the job done, with the Morgan-Rockefeller nexus at the center of it all.
He gives us the who - at least partially. Which allows us to move to the "why." Gibson provides movement in this case, where there is so much (sponsored) muddling.
