40 years ago a coup ended the socialist government headed by Salvador Allende in Chile. After his fall, 17-year dictatorship , led by Augusto Pinochet led to killings, disappearances , torture and mass exile . It is public knowledge of CIA involvement in the coup, but not as well known in Australia the leading role helping the CIA.
In a special report SBS Radio Australia , at 40 years of the coup , were made public interviews, documents and newspaper articles linking Australia with the Chilean coup . The report is presented in three parts.

SBS also interviewed Adriana Rivas , who worked for the National Intelligence Directorate of Chile , known as DINA 1973-1977 . Within that period was secretary Alejandro Burgos, Manuel Contreras assistant . He also received training as an intelligence agent and joined the brigade Lautaro . In 1978 Rivas moved to Australia .
