Chris, the world isn't run by one group of people. There are numerous groups who sometimes compete, sometimes cooperate, sometimes kill each other. The US alone has several factions among the Elite, though these groups are increasingly multi-national in their operations.

Terms like "New World Order" and "Illuminati" are a kind of shorthand for people who don't want to do deal with the messy complexities of how the world actually works.

in your opinion you mean. with zero evidence supplied. Terms like new world order and illuminati refer to real groups of people who actually exist, of that there is no doubt, the only doubt is the extent of their influence and what their ultimate intentions are. Their existence is a matter of historical record. I don't think you know a great deal about how the world actually works, and to suggest those two groups existence and activities are in any way simple is ridiculous.
