Gawd, the media is lazy. This is the guy that was supposedly ordered to move up into Oak Cliff by the police dispatcher, along with Tippit, though he actually drove straight to Dealey Plaza instead. Nelson told Henry Hurt in 1984 (for his book Reasonable Doubt) he was never questioned by the WC or HSCA, even though he had also been stationed at a police basement door when Ruby shot Oswald. Nelson indicated he wanted to write a book and make some money from his story. When asked whether he had been dispatched to Oak Cliff, he seemed puzzled by the question, then indicated he didn't want to talk about it.
