We really don't stand a fighting chance, do we?Actually we do. And they know it too. That's why they have to go to such extreme lengths. There is precious few of them and they don't have the support of the people or legitimacy. We on the other hand are billions and we actually make things happen because we work and run things. All we need is to stick together long enough to see them off.
I agree. I think that deep down the elite are terrified of the people. But they collectively own and control most of the avenues of influence, and thus work hard on influencing behaviour and thinking as well as forming public opinion. As that old saying goes: a slave who thinks he's free is the best slave of all.
In my experience an awful lot of people don't get involved (some don't have the time, others are too fearful) but few are actually blind to the reality. They know what is being done to them and why. And go along with it. For the time being.
But even if we didn't stand much of a fighting chance, we have to fight anyway.
Tyranny, even the subtle version, can never be right.
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.
