Bob Dylan and the ethics of market fascism
#5
Albert Doyle Wrote:Bad rap there for Bob. His history shows he had a christian period with 'Gotta Serve Somebody'. He's definitely not talking about the devil.

Bob kind of let me down back in the early 80's on New York's WNEW when asked about his position on hand guns. He said "Well you've got to protect yourself". He was always playing with interviewer's minds but that one hurt.

As for this commercial, he'd probably say he did it for the money.

I didn't watch the game. I think the sport is too violent and those who like it the most also give the least resistance to government corruption, war, and environmental destruction.

Albert,

Actually I interpreted this as not about Satan at all. I thought of it more in terms of some vague, ambiguous reference to Operation Chaos. Remember, that as he was the king of folk music, the queen was Joan Baez, who had been the subject of mind control. I think Bob had a "visit" and made his deal. It worked out well for him.

Of course, that is my interpretation.
