Compelling theory. Makes a lot of sense in the same way that JFK got assassinated for several competing reasons, all comprised of standing up to the powers that be.
Thanks Vasilios for asking the very question I was about to. I remember when Rocky was first advanced at veep. Having already studied the evil deeds of the Rockerfeller family I was horrified. It was now done. Total control. Then all of a sudden Ford. But this gets me back to the thinking I have always had about why the CIA dumped Tricky Dick and it has to do with the JFK assassination. His 6/23 ramblings about "the whole Bay of Pigs thing" jumped off the page when I first read it. He HAD to be referring to the assassination. Was he blackmailing someone? Threatening to tell? If so who? Hoover was the most likely suspect. (Who also died a strange death that same year). He was also competing with Hoover with his own mini "FBI" type org.
This piece makes a lot of sense and is new to me. So, like with the assassination of JFK, all I can personally conclude about the CIA take down of Nixon is "all of the above".
