I've never ever studied this Pete, but have thought for years now that harmful plastic residues must find a way into our own bodies as well as the environment.

The oil companies are behind plastic aren't they?

In the same way that big pharma are behind so called medicines where the harmful side effects often cause more (and worse) illnesses and diseases than the medicine is designed to cure or aid? A cynic might even conclude that medicines make us sicker than we might otherwise be. A convinced cynic might conclude that making people sick under colour of healing them, is a very highly profitable business.

Lucky I'm not a cynic eh. ::hush::

Yes, most of the plastic is made from petroleum products. A few are made out of chemicals from 'scratch' - but that way is more expensive. There is legislation that calls for testing and the producers fake the testing - in fact, they hired the same scientists and PR firms from the Tobacco lobby.......and they fudged or outright lied about the results, or obscured them, or got around what little legislation there is. The same companies or interlocking boards of directors also make the pharmaceuticals [many, not all, also made from oil and chemicals] and they in turn are connected often to the 'health machinery' that doesn't want health...but expensive post facto treatment of lack of healthy environment and lifestyle...and on and on it goes - with insurance and banking involved. No wonder the cancer rates are souring!....its big business!
