MH 370: Missing Malaysian Airliner
I imagine there would be a subtle difference in signal quality from different directions. Technically there would be a tiny variation in doppler effect between a north and south signal due to the tiny doppler shift in the signal itself. North would slightly vary from the northern direction and south from the southern. The imprint of this doppler shift in the signal itself might be detectable but God knows what equipment you would use to determine it. Sort of like a waveform analysis of the signal itself.
