These are the data I am willing to go by: 1) ML370 took off with some passengers on board, 2) it didn't arrive, and 3) consistent confusion. And three may be as much a piece of data as one and two.

Not true. Occams's Razor says the simplest explanation of the same data is the best. It seems to me that in the world of deep politics, just sorting what is and what is not a data point is one of the hardest challenges.
