Perhaps this quote from "The Book on Bush" by Eric Alterman and Mark Green (2004) might be an interesting place to start discussion of a limited Israel-related topic:
(Spoiler alert: This book is highly critical of George W. Bush.)
(Italics indicate material I added for clarity, bold I added for emphasis)
(quote begins on page 273, concerning the justification of the war on Iraq)
"Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld went so far as to create his own intelligence unit within the Pentagon - one that would likely give him the answers he wished to hear rather than those that the professionals believed were warranted by the evidence. This office, self-mockingly termed "the Cabal," was located inside the Pentagon's Office of Special Plans (OSP). Originally a two-person operation, it soon ballooned to eighteen and relieved heavily upon information provided by ... Ahmad Chalabi, the Iraqi National Congress (INC), and a group of still-unnamed Israelis. ... Chalabi, despite a history that included a conviction for the embezzlement of millions of dollars in Jordan...was the person chosen by the Defense Department to be (Iraq's) new leader, if only everything had gone according to plan. During his decades in exile (from Iraq) he had gotten to know, and reportedly impressed, not only Rumsfeld but also Wolfowitz, Feith, Libby, ...James R. Woolsey, ... (and) Richard Perle.
After the war, an inquiry... found that the OSP refused [page 274] to share its information "with established intelligence agencies" [and this information] in numerous instances was passed on to the National Security Council and the President without having been vetted with anyone other than political appointees." Continuing the decades-long relationship between Perle and Feith on the one hand and Israel's Likud party on the other, it also passed information to and from a similarly ad hoc operation inside Ariel Sharon's office, designed, analogously to the OSP, to bypass the experts in the Mossad and provide the (from context: Likud) administration the kind of alarmist information that did not pass professional muster. ... (D)uring... the outbreak of questioning regarding the (forged) Niger nuclear documents (the yellowcake uranium story), Republicans beat back... congressional... inquiry on the misuse of the intelligence process to justify war."
(Quote ends)
So, what was the organization in Sharon's office called, that was analogous to Rumsfeld's "Cabal"? Who were its participants? What was their "decades long connection" to Perle and Feith? Were these the same "un-named Israelis" that provided unvetted information to Rumsfeld, the NSC, and the President? What links, if any, can we find between these Israelis, and other people and events connected to 9/11?
