I think I am going to be ill. I will keep this short but seeing my dear friends J Harrison and Nathan Darby so trashed in death by an author I greatly assisted pro bono
has to be addressed. First of all Hofmeister did not want his name used out of fear. He told this to J and to Barr. If someone is saying something different NOW it greatly surprises me, and I find it most suspect. When he realized that he matched the latent to Mac Wallace, and knowing Wallace to be a killer, he informed both Jay and Barr that he feared for his life and that of his family.
Secondly I don't know who this person is who is now saying Nathan was not certified. He most certainly was. I suspect that after all this went public, the print evidence, someone decided to "doctor" Nathan's file.
Joan knows from me, during multiple conversations on the phone, that Nathan's home that he shared with his pastor son and family just a block from me was entered, bypassing the security system, and all that was taken was Nathan's box from under his bed of his work on the print. This was in July 2003 and was the only time I ever saw Nathan in fear. Now what "person" could do such a thing and why? (I guess this fact does not fit with the above speech).
Joan Mellen never knew J or Nathan. She met J briefly at a conference on the 40th anniversary. They were both dear friends of mine until they died. Both were honest as anyone I have ever known.
They are rolling over in their graves.
When Joan asked that Rachel Rendish and I assist her she said that she was writing a book to honor J. So Rachel and I gave of our time and all that we could remember.
This makes me very sad. I dare say no more.

Dawn, Most of the facts you outline, above, I was NOT aware of....and they are important in the context of this/these story[ies]. Joan, yes, is a friend of mine, but not above criticism - and not everything she believes or writes are things I endorse. When I posted this, I was not endorsing its theory - simply putting it up for consideration and comment. I posted this talk of hers to evoke a discussion. I have of more intensity than I expected...but let the truth set us free - as this is an important matter and all named and unnamed are important persons in the greater JFK and related investigations. I'm very sad to hear some of the things you mention above, of which I was not aware and which you had never told me before. More later.
