That's why we need all of Ukraine, which, similar to Belarus, will be friendly to Russia and join (with the possible exception of the three Western regions) the Eurasian Economic Union. Together we will then form a trade zone with the EU that will unite the entire Eurasian continent from France and Holland to China, Iran and India in a single trade and economic zone.

You would think is would be strongly in Germany's interest too.

Aye, but definitely not is the interests of the US, as it undermines dollar hegemony -- which for me is why the US blew this Ukrainian "affair" up in the first place, as they sought to encumber any and all continuing European "friendship" with Russia and, again, working to undermine the Euro as a competing international trade currency.

Yeah, fuck the EU you get Nulandistan. The German soft power was going quite well for a while there. But the US will have none of that. Only way the US can have a say in Europe is through NATO. Hence the military solution and not political or diplomatic.
