I see ISIS through the eyes of Pepe Escobars Pipelineistan.
Without digging too deep. It looks like a manufactured enemy to facilitate the goal of perpetually militarily occupying the Iraq/Syria area in order to control key pipeline routes.
But at the same time they get to take out one of Russia's allies and weapons customers in Assad at the same time.
And get to test their new weapons and fighter jets in the Levant wasteland.
And a weak or destroyed Syria will strengthen Israel
Many birds with one stone.
The recent beheadings and kidnappings which have come out of nowhere are just a PR exercise in order to whip up public support for this perpetual war which will never actually be won.
