Good article above. ISIS/IS seems to me to be a 'rebranding' of Al Qaeda - which seems to have lost its fear factor. I'm struck by the amazingly rapid rise in ISIS; its enormous funding and armaments; its obvious PR-firm run advertising saavy; and how it went from 'off-radar' to our biggest threat and being bombed et al. in a matter for months. That said, for most of the fighters in ISIS, it is real, and they likely take it at face value as much as do those outside in fear of it. My gut feeling is that those behind 9-11 and the rise of Al Qaeda are very likely pulling some strings and opening some funding sources for ISIS.....follow the oil, the money and who benefits in the end.
