The kind of explosion where aluminum oxidizes quickly in the presence of water releases more energy (because it includes chemical energy) but would leave aluminum oxide residue everywhere. Anyone remember if the WTC dust contained a signifigant amount of aluminum oxide? Also IMHO you would basically need vaporized molten aluminum to interact quickly with the water, which certainly seems possible during a high energy collision but wouldn't stick around very long. Certainly not for an hour or so. The aluminum would quickly cool from a vaporized state.
Also, I'm guessing the fact that you can watch the molten whatever it is drip out of the building and fall thru the air (containing oxygen) without some sort of additional pyrotechnic display means that the molten metal isn't aluminum, or for whatever reason it isn't oxidizing quickly enough to do any real damage aside from the heat.
In the interests of fairness, I should add to this that the explosions posited by the program come from the contact with water of the molten aluminium, and are a property of the aluminium, not from the rapid expansion of the water into steam. I have heard stories (before 9/11, I should add) about explosions caused by aluminium. I had a customer whose steel mill was very badly damaged because a coke can got discarded into a container of steel about to be smelted.
The standard MO was all there though in this program. Take a particular, narrow element of the whole picture, and make a case that is barely plausible, throw in some emotional blackmail about doubting the official story being an insult to the memories of those who died, and voila! We have a blatant attempt to prop up the official lie.
They did give a small amount of time to Richard Gage of Architects for 9/11 truth, but nothing like the time given to the main proponents, and neither did Gage get an opportunity to rebut their ideas.
The film makers apparently approached the Port Authority to test the remnants of the steel from the WTC to test for aluminium deposits. However their request was refused. No mention of the fact that the steel was cleared away and sent to China for recycling!
