If I remember correctly, she claimed he [Darby] let his official certification lapse - so [if correct] on a technicality he was not then registered nationally. He had been certified, and was never 'de-certified' for any reason....but there was some bureaucratic need to re-certify every so manyl years. She wrote me that Darby did nothing 'wrong'....but she believe may have been mistaken in his correlation of the prints. I'll check this from old emails [doing this from memory here] if you are all interested...but it will surely come out in her book. I believe she has a bit more documentation on this then the post above assumes. I don't want to get in the middle of brawl over this. I have no horse in this 'race'. Remember too that Mellen is rather unemotional as to persons [JFK, RFK....others...Darby] and reports the facts as she seem them. I think we'll all have to wait for her book for the full story - and how she presents it.
