Catholic Universities are sensitive to negative publicity. Especially after the molestation scandal. DePaul denied tenure to Norman Finkelstein because he demolished Dershowitz's hagiographic pack of lies known as The Case For Israel. That was sort of the equivalent of McAdams getting you fired for your Kennedy assassination works. I'm sure they are making a preventive gesture by isolating McAdams and his views on gay marriage. Pope Francis has made some unprecedented gestures in this direction so I'm sure they don't want to attract any negative publicity. I'm upset with Marquette. Not because they suspended McAdams but because they failed to fire him for his JFK assassination denial.
