It would be the mother of all Middle Eastern confrontations Magda.
An unconfirmed report claims Israel asked permission to bomb Iran during the recent post-election riots in that country, a request ignored by the Obama administration:

Iran has missiles with a range of 2000 kilometres, capable of striking anywhere in Israel. A hit on the Dimona facility could be catastrophic. They could also arm their missiles with chemical or biological warheads and aim them at population centres, again potentially catastrophic. Furthermore, Iran has reportedly supplied Hezbollah in Lebanon with 40,000 short range missiles since Israel's ill concieved invasion of that country in 2006. The Israeli missile defence system has only a limited capacity to prevent missile attacks and was unsuccessful in preventing them in 2006.
Then there's the possibilty of Iran closing the Straights of Hormuz and placing mines throughout those sea lanes. Further, it could escalate to the point where Israel uses its nukes on Iran, with the possibilty of fallout blanketing much of the region. There's so much potential for disaster it boggles the mind.
Then there's always the chance Israel could actually grow up, renounce its expansionist aspirations, behave humanely towards the Palestinians and nearby Arab neighbours, and become a responsible global citizen. Just joking--Israel isn't capable of that.
