Hey, DJ,
My current theory is that some time around the last two months of JFK's life, the biography of "Lee Harvey Oswald," which previously could be explained with merely(!) two individuals, on several times degenerated into a biographical fog. Mexico City days and Alice, Texas and environs come immediately to mind, and in these are a few other instances it is simply impossible to tell who's who and exactly what is going on. Maybe this biographical "fog" was deliberate and planned. Think of the advantages....
It makes it impossible for investigators to determine even the simplest facts about "Lee Harvey Oswald" with certainty. It virtually ensures that eye-witness accounts will be contradictory and ultimately discounted. Maybe....
But I think something real involving Oswald impostors happened in Mexico City. If this was just some sort of CIA paperwork charade, a molehunt or whatever device you want to consider, the Cubans simply wouldn't have reacted the way they did.
Hope work is going well completing your write-up. Good luck!
