Mrs Reid and Truly gave affidavits to the Dallas PD the afternoon of the assassination. So it is possible the Coca Cola was inserted into Oswald's hands by the FBI agent who assumed the Coke Oswald had in his hand during the Mrs Reid encounter was also in his hand during the Baker encounter. That report was written September 23rd 1964. So Baker could have confronted Oswald in the lunch room without any Coca Cola and after Baker left Oswald could have bought the Coke and walked over to the Mrs Reid encounter. This would remove sinister intent and simply be a presumption on the dictating FBI agent's behalf.
If you step back and think about this it is still just as interesting either way. For your version to be true would put Oswald closer to the 6th floor and have Baker and Truly making an alibi for him. It would also exclude Oswald from being Prayer Man since the man was coming down the stairs.
I contend that it doesn't make sense for Baker and Truly to conspire to put Oswald further away from the 6th floor. That goes against the grain of the set-up. It also doesn't make sense that FBI would help them exonerate Oswald by putting him further away from the 6th floor. They would be much more likely to accent Oswald being caught descending the steps at the 4th floor. It makes sense to me that the difficultly here was caused by Baker running across two Oswalds two floors apart. The true hiding here is the figure at the 4th floor and not the lunch room encounter. Baker's omission could then be explained as a blown attempt to place Oswald closer to the 6th floor while hiding the double. Remember, Bernard Haire's backdoor Oswald was similarly omitted (Mr Parker ignores this while demanding evidence of doubles).
The Fritz document linked below specifies Lee Harvey Oswald was the man seen on the 3rd or 4th floor landing. Truly told of the lunch room encounter that day.
The two Oswalds theory still stands, all considered.
