It breaks with his personal tradition as well. When President Kennedy died GHWB immediately showed up to pay his respects.

Since there is some indication he may have played some role in what we now call Watergate, it wouldn't suprise me he participated in some way in Teddy's beartrap. It is more than certain he was involved in some ways in Dallas and, again wouldn't surprise me if involved in what happened at the Ambassador Hotel. When Bush 41 dies the world will be rid of a very evil man from a very evil family.
