Truman by David McCullough

I have been reading reviews of this book at Amazon today and it has many 5 stars reviews, the highest any item reviewed at Amazon can receive. IMHO Mr. Truman was one the the most evil of United States leaders. His bombing of Japan. his loyality oaths, which gave "McCarthyism" an opening wedge, his sell out to the " military-industrial compex." IMO his selection as Vice-President, after the dumping of the more liberal Henry Wallace, was done, by the "Secret Team" and its elite masters, with the knowledge that in doing, they knew that FDR would not live out his term, so the next President would be a pawn in their hands. Yet this pawn of "The establishment" is looked on as a great President. This reminds me that the Clintons are admired, for what reason I don't know, seeing that Bill "ended the New Deal", at least to the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan who stated such at the time that Mr Clinton sighned the so called "welfare reform act." The Cook County, Chicago,Illinois Demcratic Party was a major influence, in dumping Wallace, they also helped, and the local mob, put Obama into office, yet another false liberal, and while not the main force in the JFK assassination, they played a role, at least via Jack Ruby.

I share your views on Truman Kenneth. An incompetent puppet led by the nose. Interesting about the Chicago connections. I'm not up on US history.

You are welcome.

The Lester Crown & Pritzker families of Chicago have been Obama backers since his U.S.Senate run in 2004. Both families are mob connected and Professor Pete Dale Scott in his various writings have placed the Chicago mob very high up in "Deep Politics." In the film "JFK" "Mr. X",( in real life Col. Fletcher Prouty) played by Donald Sutherland asks Jim Garrison, played by Kevin Costner, " General Dynamics of Ft.Worth, Texes, who owns that ? ", when running down the list of suspects on who might be behind/involved the Kennedy murder. General Dynamics was "owned", insofar as its largest stockholder was Henry Crown, father of Lester. Henry Crown, who also on two ocassions the owner the Empire State Building. See "Captive City" by Ovid Demaris and "Supermob", by Russo(yes he is a terrible reporter on JFK matters), the Professor Scotts work, especially "The Dallas Conspiracy", an unpublished manuscript. which may be available at speciality booksellers, my copy was purchased many years ago from Tom Davis Books, which is, I believe, is no longer in operation. Professor Scotts "Deep Politics and the Death of JFK" also has a great deal on the Crowns and the Chicago outfit. The Pritzkers own, among other things, the Hyatt Hotel chain, one of which, not far from my home, was the place where Allen Dorfman, he of Teamster Pension Fund fame, was murdered. Btw Penny Pritzker is now Obamas Secretary of Commerce.

Wheels within wheel there Kenneth!

Sibel Edmonds also has noted Chicago connections also re 911.

It would be good to see the connections in a network diagram or visual form. Not sure if any one has done that. Maybe on Muckety?

The current Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanual was Obama's Chief of Staff before he was elected Mayor, a fact now regretted by a majority of Chicago voters, but he has, as of this date, at least $2million in his coffers and with no credible candidate emerging as a good alternative he likely will be relelected Mayor should he decide to run again. Mr. Emanual has been closing public schools and is a, IMO, a "charter school fanatic." When he was in charge of the Demcratic Congressional Campaign Committee he went out of his way to select "pro-business" nominees rather than progressives/liberals which made him a favorite of the Democratic Leadership Council a group that had Bill Clinton & Al Gore among its founders. The goal of the DLC was to rid the Democratic Party of economic liberalism, and it has surely succeeded even though the DLC no longer exists.
