It makes Boggs' death/disappearance all the more suspicious....I for one have always considered it a planned death by plane crash/explosion. So bad was it, the plane was not to be found.

Keep in mind that although Garrison always said it was Long who told him to look into the WC, according to Joan Mellon's book on Garrison, it
was actually Hale Boggs. I have long believed this was murder. Just one more plane crash. A favorite of the evil powers that be.

I have been communicating regularly with Huey Long's great-granddaughter recently, in conjunction with a book I'm working on about the distribution of wealth in America. She assured me that her grandfather, Russell Long, was very proud of the fact he had been the one to talk to Garrison about the Warren Commission.

It makes Boggs' death/disappearance all the more suspicious....I for one have always considered it a planned death by plane crash/explosion. So bad was it, the plane was not to be found.

While 'they' likely didn't want to find the plane and the bodies somewhere in Alaska, at the time [and likely still do not!...], ground penetrating radar didn't exist when it happened, but exists now; so, the plane, if under snow, somewhere in Alaska should be able to be found now. As I have mentioned elsewhere, I contacted Kokkie Roberts [yes that one from NPR] who is Boggs' daughter. She wouldn't even discuss his death with me...and it was NOT due to remaining grief...but fear about discussing it..and/or her career.

Hmmm. Odd that Joan would say it was Boggs and not Long. Because Garrison said it was Russell Long. Til he died I believe. But Joan knew him well, so perhaps it was both of them.

Peter of course Roberts will not touch that. But I saw a whole web site many years ago by her brother. He believes it was sabotage. I don't remember his name. Disgusting that someone would put a radio career above her own father's murder. Priorities.

I think Russell, Boggs and Cooper were less involved in the WC hearings than any other members because of their Congressional duties, and by the summer of '64 they were probably being left out of the Commission's loop. Remember that Sen. Russell was very preoccupied in the summer of 1964 trying to filibuster the Civil Rights Bill in the Senate. Given his political views, it's likely his theory of the conspiracy against JFK was that it was a "commie" plot. Gerald Ford appears to have held the same view, at least privately, in 1964.


Oh, and is there a source for the claim that Clinton drove Boggs to the airport?
