9-11 and disinformation
#1
Having spent almost all of my adult life reading JFK assassination books, I am not very well-read on 9-11, having obtained much of my knowledge from videos and this forum. Also it has been clear to me for a very long time that the truth movement is even more replete with agents than is the JFK truth movement. One example I think we can all agree on is an attorney with whom I used to have a loose affiliation - (via a JFK group)- named Dean T. Hartwell. He has written two books on the subject of "Planes without Passengers". I have not read either but read the reviews on Amazon as to just how bad these books are. Then we have good old Fetzer who is loony toons (or worse). So today I have been trying to sift through different sites and posts as to what I should read and what to avoid. (Great thread here on DPF as the best of, by the way). Curious as to what anyone here may think of Hartwell's books. Or any others to avoid. And conversely, is there any one really great book that would be a place for me to begin? (And please don't say The Most Dangerous Book in the World, which I have and was very let down by). Thanks in advance.

I think you should start with the 9/11 Commission Report. Form your own opinions about what is (and is not) wrong with it, then branch out. (Same way you probably started with JFK)

I have it if you want to borrow it.
"All that is necessary for tyranny to succeed is for good men to do nothing." (unknown)

James Tracy: "There is sometimes an undue amount of paranoia among some conspiracy researchers that can contribute to flawed observations and analysis."

Gary Cornwell (Dept. Chief Counsel HSCA): "A fact merely marks the point at which we have agreed to let investigation cease."

Alan Ford: "Just because you believe it, that doesn't make it so."

The 9/11 Report can be downloaded for free, I think from some government site if you Google it.

Dawn, I recommend watching the five hour documentary "September 11 The New Pearl Harbor" by Massimo Mazzucco. I'm pretty sure it's on YouTube or somewhere for free. He actually encourages people to copy and distribute the DVDs.

As for books, these are the best introductions:
Gourley, James R. - The 9/11 Toronto Report - 2012
Davidsson, Elias - Hijacking America's Mind on 9/11: Counterfeiting Evidence - 2013 (short book, but detailed, heavy reading)
Tarpley, Webster 9/11 Synthetic Terror Made in USA - 2005, 2007
Marrs, Jim The Terror Conspiracy Revisited: What Really Happened on 9/11 2011

I already know what's in that. I want to read CRITICAL books. I have believed it was an inside job almost from the start, but just never got around to reading books. Have read a ton online of course. And seen many, many videos also.

August 8, 2011 interview of Kevin Fenton by Erik Larson*. Fenton is the author of the book Disconnecting the dots: How CIA and FBI officials enabled 9/11 and evaded government investigations. In the three hour interview (3 parts) Fenton discusses a number of the persons and issues covered in his book, which is narrowly focused on the pre-9/11 failings of the NSA, CIA and FBI, and the official investigations of these failings. In the last part he gives his views on other aspects of 9/11.

Larson's review of the book can be read here: Deconstructing the 9/11 dot disconnection: a book review by Erik Larson
* Disclosure: Fenton and Larson are both contributors to HistoryCommons.org. In addition, Larson obtained many of the 9/11 Commission records that Fenton cites in his book, Disconnecting the Dots
"There are three sorts of conspiracy: by the people who complain, by the people who write, by the people who take action. There is nothing to fear from the first group, the two others are more dangerous; but the police have to be part of all three,"

David Ray Griffin's '9/11 Ten Years On' is a good overall introduction to the subject.

After that I would recommend Kevin Ryan's 'Another 19'.
“The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him.”

'Another 19' is excellent but pretty heavy to wade through, especially for beginners.

I'd recommend the exact same books that Tracy has, with the addition of Ian Henshall's 9/11: THE NEW EVIDENCE. Beyond that, I'd suggest also reading the complete 'Shoestring's 9/11 blog' entries. Evidence based, heavy footnoted and linked. The official report is probably best digested through David Ray Griffin's OMISSIONS AND DISTORTIONS volume.

I haven't read too many either, but I'd recommend The Terror Conspiracy Revisited - Jim Marrs. I also thought the Loose Change documentary was really good, too.

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
