Alan Dale speaks with Dr. John Newman, former Army Intelligence officer, expert in Far Eastern studies, a scholar of Christian Theology and comparative religions, historian and educator, an author whose research has led to revelations about America's hidden histories. He is the author of 1992's JFK and Vietnam, 1995's Oswald and the CIA, which was updated for the 2008 edition, and 2011's Quest For The Kingdom: The Secret Teachings of Jesus in the Light of Yogic Mysticism. Dr. Newman's latest work is The Assassination of President Kennedy, Volume 1: Where Angels Tread Lightly (May 2015).

Thank you, Phil.
I appreciate you listening and commenting.
Dr. Newman's new book, Where Angels Tread Lightly, is the first in what may be a 5 or 6 part series.
The fact that he is "all in," is a significant development in the story of our gradual progress from darkness to light. He stepped away for a while. He came back with the intent to see it through. I believe I understand that he thinks this stuff is knowable. Although he is not alone among those responsible for a new era in JFK assassination research, no one has contributed more to the work begun by HSCA concerning the revelations and exploration of deep and troubling connections between the CIA and LHO.

Looking forward to listening to this.

I'm only 35 minutes into it. Fascinating.

Around 58 minutes Newman describes how he acquired the draft copy of NSAM 273 with all the notes and scratch-outs etc. 2 big cross-outs were ordered by Johnson, which shows he was directly involved in its creation.
Interesting, around 1:14 Newman says his book 'JFK And Vietnam' stopped the army from writing an official war record volume on the Kennedy years because it was the truth they couldn't admit. They couldn't write their preferred history because it would conflict too much.

Another great interview Dale! I learned a lot from that interview! What will the 5-6 volume series he is working on now cover exactly - an epic on the JFK work or other? I listened twice and still think I must have missed some things. Crammed packed with good stuff! Somewhere, way back when at a Dallas conference I remember someone [can't remember who] telling me that Newman was 'CIA disinformation'. I didn't buy it at all then, and I buy it even less than not at all today. Some were suspicious of him because he was in the military and had high security clearances, worked with NSA as a contractor, etc. Nah...there are good people in all institutions. He's proof.

Around 1:44 after showing her the Mexico documents she signed-off on Newman got Jane Roman to admit the deception committed in Mexico showed a CIA operational interest in Oswald 6 weeks prior to the assassination.

WOW!!! What an incredible interview. So much to digest, especially all the stuff about McNamara, and how Warner books screwed him. One of the biggest and happiest surprises for me was to learn the military higher ups response to his groundbreaking book. Reminded me of the good guys in Seven Days In May. I will eagerly await his new book.
I knew that Dr Newman was a consultant to Stone but did not realize he was actually in the film. The timing of his phd thesis and "JFK" was- to me- literally divine intervention. And the meeting in a Dallas bar of his agent and Stone's person was beyond synchronicity.
Well done. Looking forward to more from this true American hero.
