Blimey, The Daily Bellylaugh strikes a blow for deep politics. Must be an aberration.
Can you imagine even a year ago, any mainstream newspaper writing the following: Quote:But actually what we should be thinking is that a lot of this is what happens what you dismantle regulatory frameworks. This is what happens when you let money run riot and you allow industries to police themselves. This is what happens when the rich and powerful are endlessly granted special privileges, celebrated and permitted or even encouraged to place themselves above the law. And this is what happens when ordinary people feel bored by and excluded from politics, largely because their voices matter so little for the reasons above. Effectively, we are all living in Italy under Silvio Berlusconi. What's the point in anything? Yet the Bellylaugh's "aberration" begins to reveal just how much the whole fucking planet is subject to organized crookedness posing as polite society at work -- plus constant political gaming in pursuit of elite agendas, namely protecting their control of the pigs trough and their zeal for exercising power through dishonest straw-men. And the writer of the article, bless him, now wants to tuck his head back under the comfy bed-covers and return to believing in apple pie and the pureness of the democratic process. Tough. The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge. Carl Jung - Aion (1951).
