I never heard of this guy before. The timing of his "suicide" on the heels of the 2000 election is telling.
I Just ordered this book and here is an interview with the author Patricia Goldstone on Mark Lombardi's life, art, and suspicious suicide.

Thank you for this. I'd never heard of him. Smells like an all-too-common CIA snuff-out. He had had a run in with the Bush gang and was VERY political and being paid attention to as an artist....a bad combination!...throw in being trained in political research by someone who knew about BCCI and Kossoggi and you have a volatile mix...perhaps deadly! Very interesting. The book is now on my 'list'.
Quote:In the fateful month of March 2000, shortly after opening a hugely successful show in New York that unveiled the more nefarious financial connections of Presidential candidate George W. Bush, the hugely ambitious Conceptual artist Mark Lombardi was found hanged in his studio, an apparent suicide. With museums lining up to buy his work, and the fame he had sought relentlessly at last within his reach, speculation about whether his death was suicide or murder has titillated the art world ever since. Lombardi was an enigma who was at once a compulsive truth-teller and a cunning player of the art game, a political operative and a stubborn independent, a serious artist and a Merry Prankster, a metaphysicist if not a scientist.
Lombardi's spidery, elusive diagrams describing the evolution of the shadow-banking industry from a decades-old alliances between intelligence agencies, banking, government and organized crime, may have made him unique in art history as the only artist whose primary subject, the CIA, has turned around and studied him and his art work. Exhaustively researched, this is the first comprehensive biography of this immensely contradictory and brilliantly original artist.

I think there's a few threads on the forum about him and his work.
“The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him.â€
― Leo Tolstoy,
His originals can bring up to a few hundred thousands of dollars, so it may well be very difficult to find images that are HD or even computer readable. The ones I found thus far are just barely unreadable at highest resolution. I'll try some computer image enhancement techniques. If anyone does find a high resolution one, kindly let me know. If you listened to the whowhatwhy audio interview with the author, he now only did research on the standard kinds of books most of us use, but he somehow was given original documents that are not generally accessible on bankster activities and how they tie into intelligence. Likely why he was murdered....for what he had done and what he was capable of doing in the future. After [or when] he died it seems his loft space was 'purged' of some of these materials.
A little off topic, but not much, I don't know if others have noted but the CIA recently admitted it was funding and promoting the work of the leading way-out-there abstract impressionists such as Rothko, Pollack, de Kooning, Disney, etc. Article HERE. [you can easily find many other articles on this]
So, spook attention to art is not new....but wet operations against them in the visual field is...in the music scene it is 'old hat'. One begins to wonder what IS NOT controlled by intelligence creeps. ::trenchcoatspy::

I also discovered him quite a few years back. In connection with other suspicious "suicides" connected to Bush and other spooks.
Glad someone has written a book on him. There were three others, "suicides", but it's been too many years. I wrote it all down at the time. Really need to get a notebook just for this sort of thing.

I was thinking of reproduction posters of his work. I wonder if they are around? The MoMA gift shop?

Well, they are the biggest control freaks around so they want to control everything.

Danny Casolaro was another of the four. A third had written an unauthorized bio on Bush 1 or W, I forget which, but he was also "suicided". (I'd recognize the name if I saw it but it's eluding me at the moment). I forget the forth and what his involvement was, just that there was a Bush family connection. (Maybe the guy found dead outside the office of Richard Mellon Scaife?)
