The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Our democracy and attendant freedoms/privacy/rights are now literally and figuratively 'only skin deep'.

"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience! People are obedient in the face of poverty, starvation, stupidity, war, and cruelty. Our problem is that grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem!" - Howard Zinn

It's the car adverts that get me, the visual refs & script refs; gotta assume they come from just a few advertising houses. There's at least 2, maybe 3 that use the land curving back as in the film Inception, and an Audi one that kinda uses the concept of the eye as a camera. Clearly "car" is perhaps the single 'strongest' reference 'template'/thread that's used, which fits with several <Aug2011 msg's/incoming 'discussions' I'd had, like the YT clip from 'Ben' of the aged Newfoundland couple saying "car" - new found land, 'driven', and much else besides. There was one I read a while ago & initially dismissed, about bedsprings design being prescribed in such a way as to attenuate radio signals; if you look at some of this sort of stuff from the point of view as looking 'up' the chain, they seem entirely fanciful, but if you look at them from the 'top' down, then it seems to me to be plausible. I get alot of 'revolution', 'progress', 'social' & 'engineering' refs, from the 'superheroes'.

Albert Camus - "Nothing is more despicable than respect based on fear."

I have also felt very uneasy about the Ancestry DNA testing that they offer. Ancestry itself is Mormon owned. Or perhaps more correctly owned by Mormons. And we all know about the over representation of the spooks in the Mormon church. Just the Ancestry alone look like they are building a global data base on every one. (and getting people to actually pay for it themselves) Now they have recently been offering DNA test to see what ethnic back ground people have but then there is that data base again now matched up with DNA profile willingly offered up and paid for by others.
