"Conspiracy theories challenged in the main stream"

Over at EPU, under the heading "Conspiracy theories challenged in the main stream", it has been noted that the National Geographic will have a show on TV tonight about 9/11. Here's the link that was posted: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/ep...7/Overview .

I haven't even opened the link, but I saw the promos last night when I watched the show on the genetic project that documented the fact, Jack, that we all came from the same very small group of people in some distant place in Africa. [size=12]Hey, guess, what?! We're related!

We're all "out of africa".

So someone chimed in with a post over there and said they'd watch the 9/11 special and let us know what they thought.

My wife mentioned it to me and said she'd watch it so she could "catch up" to me on the topic. Maybe I'll be awake enough... but I've been up all night working on another project (forthcoming in a day or two at a discussion board near you), and the Red Sox game will be on too, so I don't make any promises.

Anyway, I've read the book(s), downloaded the pdf's, have been posting for years, and still check in daily with the news, and four or more web sites, but there is lots that I still have to learn.

I am hoping the program tonight will finally settle the issue on who participated in and won the golf tournament hosted by one of the world's richest men at one of the most secure military facilities in the world -- the global nuclear command post for America -- with one of the CEO's of the company whose offices vaporized that very same day. I think George may have gotten out of another of the world's most secure military bases [the one where that missing nukje was flown to] in time to get there to at least play 3 holes ... bogey, bogey, double-bogey ... but that's not bad for someone who had a busy morning with a pet goat and whose Angel may have been next. I don't think the scorecard was discovered on the floor in the cockpit of the airplane that few the bin Laden family out of the country that day, so that information is bogeous, probably by way of cell phone call from 37,000 feet at 550 mph.

But at least we do have a good idea who that dude with the Harley outfit was who knew that very morning the precise mechanics of how the jet fuel burned so hot that it weakened the massive steel beams such that the entire building turned to micron-size dust in the formation of a pyroclastic cloud. Mostly due to structural failure because the fire was just too intense.

Oh, there is one other thing I hope the show will make clear... just how it is that the Commission Report matched the draft -- written in the early days before most of the testimony had even been heard -- so closely.

Oh, and another thing... how did the FAA, after so incompetently failing to find four airplanes in the crowded skies of the East Coast, manage to actualize a total ground halt of all commercial traffic in or entering the country without a single problem?

I wonder if the Commissioners will tune in.... or the Jersey Girls.... , or Obama?

Will it be piped into Gitmo?

Precisely when will Dick Cheney have settled into his living room chair?

Will the Secret Service be escorting his wife into the TV room?

Will Dov Zakheim be handling the remote controls?

Will the guy from Domino's Pizza call and ask “do the orders still stand?”

And will Norm Mineta be the delivery guy?

Well this will be crap....but Jesse Ventura is hosting a new show called Conspiracy Theory on Tru Tv (formerly court tv) which sounds promising. Wonder how long THIS one will last. In 2003 he had a show for a very brief time. The one time I caught it he featured Barr McClellan and the entire show was devoted to conspiracy in Dealy Plaza. The plug was pulled after that show. (Along with the plug at History Channel and the entire Men Who Killed Kennedy series). Hopefully the Tru tv producers have more integrity and courage.

National Geographic, great as it is, is on the public dole.

It is closely associated with the Luce Foundation. Look at its
pro-NASA materials. It is close to government programs like the
Smithsonian and Air and Space Museum.

Expect a debunking show a la Popular Mechanics, but with more prestige.
Think Walter Cronkite: "Could these inexperienced arab pilots fly jets
into buildings; YES, because they did."

If they did a pro-conspiracy show, much funding would dry up.

Dear friends who've just viewed the National Geographic Conspiracy Theory on 9/11,
Thank you for taking time to come here and find our contact information in order to share your thoughts. We ask that if you are interested enough in this issue to write us hate mail because you actually believe the nonsense National Geographic states we "all believe" that you take a few minutes to click on a couple of the links to your left, in the "New to 9/11" section. What you will find is that essentially nothing that producer presented as the "beliefs" of "Truthers" actually reflects the real questions being asked by 9/11 truth advocates, as represented at this website.
This silly attempt to boil down the "Truthers" (what, people who are not actively pursuing answers to 9/11 questions are not in favor of truth? ridiculous...) to a few people who believe there was no plane at the Pentagon and the buildings were brought down by "thermite" is just that -- silly. Since you've come this far, why not have a look at a few of the 40 Questions or the Family Report Card and ask yourself why, after nearly eight long years, family members and other Americans are still wanting for answers to these core questions ... and ask yourselves why you're still not allowed to have those answers. And have a look at the articles on the front page at 911research.com or Journal of 9/11 Studies, and learn what the scientists are actually saying in their recently published peer-reviewed article. (No, it's not "thermite".)
We will attempt to issue a more thorough response within the next few days, particularly highlighting statements from those scientists (physicists, chemists, engineers) interviewed by National Geographic but not represented in the final edit. In the meantime, a brief review of these links will provide you with a much more accurate picture as to why millions of Americans (and our neighbors around the world) are still demanding a full investigation, restoration of our civil liberties, and truth-telling so that finally, accountability and closure will be forthcoming.
After this short effort at due diligence, if you still feel inclined to send us hate mail because you choose to believe the self-serving falsehoods served up by your corporate media, please feel free to do so. Some more follow-up to the NG piece. The NY Times previewed it which is interesting in that it gives more space to a 'Truther' - and a fairly credible one too - than you might expect - that's Murdoch no less! - do I smell somthing going on here? (NEW YORK) You know the world is really coming to an end when the New York Post lets this reporter, a leading 9/11 Truth investigator, be the lead source in their review of the new anti-Truther documentary. The National Geographic Channel’s “9/11: Science and Conspiracy” debuts tonight, Monday, August 31. It is so pathetic, it should be scored a victory for the truth movement.
“9/11 Science and Conspiracy” is fundamentally-misconceived, half hearted, poorly planned, slapped together, badly written, mis-cas, and self-defeating. It contains four scientific “experiments” pulled off in the New Mexico desert by a bunch of pyrotechnic geeks, the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC).
Should we gloss over EMRTC’s ties to defense contractors, FEMA or
Homeland Security? EMRTC Executive Dennis Hunter is the liaison to southern California military psy-ops producer SAIC. (Yes, kids, that SAIC, the one where right-wing anthrax suspect Steven Hatfill labored away alongside Jerry Hauer, who later became Giuliani’s mysterious “bioterror expert.”)
Yet, on camera, EMRTC come off as hapless and inept. They can’t get their rocket to hit the broad side of a concrete board structure. When it does, it teaches us nothing about what hit the Pentagon anyway. Appropriately enough, EMRTC then blow up the concrete board structure with a powerful little bomb, to show what a “missile” at the Pentagon
might have done. (If that missile was a bomb inside a concrete board box in the New Mexico desert. Get it? No?)
EMRTC then do “tests” with materials that are purported to be sort-of World Trade Center-related, but they don’t use the right stuff here either. To disprove that nano-thermite could have been used in the destruction of the World Trade Center, they choose to use the much milder material, plain thermite. They light it on fire and try to damage a steel pillar. When the pillar is still standing, the doc cuts to 9/11 truth leader Richard Gage who says something like “well that
experiment was asinine. What a waste of time.”
I love this part: the arrogant, British sounding female narrator then intones, “Instead of accepting the facts presented by experts, truthers continue their search for elusive answers.” But this documentary never presents any controlled demolition “experts.” They promised to interview Chemist Kevin Ryan, a real scientist fired for standing up against the 9/11 cover-up at Underwriters Laboratories in 2004. But the Ryan interview never happened. And Ryan recently wrote at 911 Blogger about Brent Blanchard, the documentary’s one controlled demolition “expert”: “As a photographer for Implosion World, Blanchard is often consulted for these tabloid programs when a ‘demolition expert’ is needed. But no evidence has ever been given that the real experts allow photographers to plan and implement their high-rise demolitions.
Hopefully, the N.G. Channel will feature interviews with experts who actually have planned and implemented such operations, like Danny Jowenko, who stated that WTC 7 was a demolition.”
Four years ago, I was attacked in the NY Post for writing “Big Wedding” and opening a fair-trade coffeehouse that dared discuss taboo topics. I was labeled THE 9/11 JAVA JACKASS in a big headline across the page. But today, I was given a generous amount of space to denounce the 9/11 cover-up. Rupert Murdoch owns BOTH the New York Post and the National Geographic Channel. Could it be that he wants to support 9/11 Truth a bit now, as an experiment in destabilizing Obama? After all, Obama’s recent denunciations of 9/11 Truth have gone beyond Bush’s. Obama is closer to Wall Street and is such a media darling, he brazenly attended the elite Bilderberg summit during the campaign.
Do they know the truth? Let’s assume they do. The media are full of smart professionals who have made a choice not to rock the boat. They know that the truth movement has real science on our side: red nano-thermite chips found in four out of four samples tested. Those results were published in a peer-reviewed paper, by respected scientists like
Kevin Ryan, Stephen Jones, Niels Harrit, et. al. This nano-thermite study is the 500 lb. gorilla in the room. It’s suffering a total media blackout in the US. Yet you feel its presence if you read between the lines of the New York Post review. I spoke about the Harrit paper often with the reporter, but it didn’t survive the editor’s cut. In the documentary, the producers never mention the peer-reviewed nano-thermite study. When you can’t win with science, you chose pseudo-
science.
There’s plenty to get angry about here. But wait. Perhaps we need to not be so quick to judge the behavior of Murdoch’s media machines. Perhaps this is the closest that we can expect them to come to the truth. If they can’t look at the science dead-on, perhaps the best they can do is the gambit of sending up a weak resistance.

Some good stuff in that - though personally I'm so long-in-the-tooth with it all by now that I think I prefer Ed's wit on the NG thing

That is an impressive collection. Erickson's responses really are quite pathetic. He is thrashing about to rationalise what is obviously a very tight editorial brief. Trying light-hearted bravado and irony but it just doesn't work - Oh the trials and contortions required of an establishment shill eh?

As for the NY Times piece linked above, its throw-away line that "... super thermite might not even exist" becomes risible when you read the 'AMTIAC Quarterly' and 'Super-Thermite Matches 'pdfs reference by Jones in those email exchanges. I recommend both of them, especially the AMTIAC one. Note the sponsors badges all over it - DoD, DoA, DoAF, DoN, DARPA. :afraid::afraid::afraid::afraid::afraid: Someone needs to ask the NY Times why they don't trust their Army, Navy, Air Force, DoD and DARPA - tongue in cheek naturally.
