2nd mystery 'hit' Israeli jet flyover amid slaying in Hungary
#1
Look like the Israelis are on a mission to exterminate with extreme prejudice some troublesome individuals around the world what ever it takes. There are of course almost daily illegal incursions into Lebanese airspace but
Europe is way off course.

In a possible sequel to the Dubai assassination, Israeli spy planes flew uninvited and unannounced over Budapest the same day a Syrian man was shot to death in his car, Hungarian media reported yesterday.
Two Israeli air force Gulfstream V-type jets, equipped with sophisticated intelligence gear, flew more than 1,300 miles over Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania on Wednesday before flying over eastern Budapest and then disappearing, the reports said.
The incident occurred the same day Budapest police said a 52-year-old Syrian was gunned down while stopping his black luxury car at a traffic light on the east side of the capital.

The attacker fired several shots before stealing a black briefcase from the car and fleeing on foot, authorities said.
Police have yet to identify the victim or give a motive.
The incident follows the Jan. 19 assassination of a senior Hamas official in Dubai, which United Arab Emirates police blamed on an Israeli hit team. Investigators accused Israel's Mossad spy agency of planning the hit on Mahmoud al-Mabhouh for more than a year and using dozens of bogus passports or phony identities to enter Dubai.
Hungarian Defense Minister Imre Szekeres yesterday demanded an investigation of Wednesday's overflights, which the ministry said were made without prior notification from Israel.
The MTI news agency said experts believed the planes approached Ferihegy International Airport at a low altitude before veering off. They said there was no attempt to land.
The Israeli Embassy in Budapest said the planes were on a diplomatic mission, but did not elaborate. "Of course, they were not spy planes," said Ambassador Alice Bin-Noun.
The Hungarian Foreign Ministry refused comment when asked about a possible diplomatic motive for the flights.
Over the years, Israeli operatives, including Mossad agents, have been credited with assassinating dozens of targeted Arab terrorists, often in Europe.
Some attacks occurred far from the Mideast, such as in Athens, Paris, Rome, Cannes, Norway and even Uruguay.
Aside from possible involvement in the Syrian's murder, the spy planes might have been gathering intelligence, the Hungarian newspaper Nepszabadsag said. The flying distance from Israel to Budapest is greater than to Iran, Israel's sworn enemy, it noted.
Israel has had a bitter relationship with Syria, which provides sanctuary for terrorists in Damascus and sponsors Hezbollah and other terror groups.
In September 2007, Israeli jets reportedly blew up a nuclear reactor in Syria that was being built with North Korean help.

And then there is this:

* Israeli planes not linked to murder of Syrian * Overflight sparked suspicions of "another Dubai" hit * Hungarian defence ministry not informed of fly-over By Krisztina Than BUDAPEST, March 19 (Reuters) - Two Israeli airforce planes that made a low-level pass over Budapest this week had nothing to do with the killing of a Syrian man in the Hungarian capital on the same day, Hungarian officials said on Friday. Denying speculation that the planes were part of an undercover mission, Hungarian government spokesman Domokos Szollar said the overflight was "routine" training that was cleared in advance with Hungary by the Israelis. Hungarian police said they saw no link between the planes and the shooting of the Syrian man, and their investigation of his murder was confined to Hungary. "The Israeli airforce conducted a training operation at Ferihegy airport the day before yesterday, but it was not spying or reconaissance, merely a routine pilot manoeuvre, the so called touch-and-go," Szollar said. However, a breakdown in internal communications meant the Hungarian defence ministry was not informed, and when the planes were sighted and reported in a Hungarian daily, Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai ordered an investigation. In the early morning of the day the planes flew over, Syrian-born Bassam Trache, 52, was shot dead in his car at traffic lights on the outskirts of Budapest, and a bag or briefcase was taken by the attacker, Hungarian police said. Budapest chief of criminal investigations Zsolt Bodnar, said speculation about a link was "in the realm of fiction". Hungarian authorities sent no request for information to Interpol about the case, said Richard Leyrer, Hungary's chief liaison with international police associations. "The only connection I have seen between the two cases is that they were in the news on the same day," he told reporters. In Damascus, Syrian officials had no comment. SUSPICIOUS MINDS Nevertheless, Israeli and Arab media speculated that the fly-over was part of an assassination by Israeli agents. The Yeshiva World News website asked if it were "Another Dubai?", recalling last month's sensational case when alleged Israeli agents disguised as tourists were caught on video in a Dubai hotel where a Palestinian was murdered that same day. "The report (on the Budapest planes) comes one day after the mysterious assassination of a Syrian national," Israel's mass-circulation paper Maariv said. The murder victim had dual Hungarian-Syrian citizenship, had lived in Hungary for 20 years and likely earned his living from currency exchange, police said. The daily Nepszabadsag said he was killed by several shots at close range. Two Israeli planes performing the touch-and-go were Gulfstream Vs - a modified 16-seater business jet, Hungarian media said. "They were not spy planes, of course," Israeli ambassador Aliza Bin-Noun told the Hungarian news agency MTI. An Israeli security source said he found it hard to believe Israel might have been involved. "Gunshots in the middle of a public street in Europe isn't really our style," he said. Government spokesman Szollar said Hungary's foreign ministry got a request from Israel for the operation some two months ago, and forwarded it to the National Transport Authority (NKH). The NKH gave permission for the operation, he said, but defence ministry officials appear not to have been informed. "The overflight was routine training" and "merely a routine pilot maneuver".

Seems assassination these days is just, well, routine.

(snip)

An Israeli security source said he found it hard to believe Israel might have been involved. "Gunshots in the middle of a public street in Europe isn't really our style," he said.

Really?

Gerald Bull - shot multiple times in the head outside his Brussells apartment in 1990.

Atef Bseiso - shot three times in the head at point blank range outside a Paris hotel in 1992.

Fathi Shiqaqi - shot multiple times in the head outside a Maltese hotel in 1995.

Etc.

Assassinating a target with multiple shots at close range in a European street is not just a Mossad MO.

It's as good as a Mossad signature.

Hungarian military was aware of Israeli jets, says defense minister

The Hungarian military was aware of the arrival of two Israeli aircraft in Hungary on March 17 and was in full control of the country's airspace, Defence Minister Imre Szekeres told an extraordinary session of Parliament's defence committee on Tuesday.

"Any claim that the military had not expected the jets or is not in control of the airspace is unfounded," the minister said.

The transport minister and members of the committee insisted that the Israeli manoeuvre was not fully in line with Hungarian law.

The parliamentary committee was convened to question the defence minister on the fly-over by Israeli jets reported last Wednesday. Hungarian Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai had asked ministers to provide immediate information concerning a press report about the flight.

The papers said that two planes of the Israel Air and Space Force (IASF) approached the runway of Budapest's international Ferihegy Airport twice but continued their flight without landing. The manouvre was later described by defence experts as a "touch-and-go".

Szekeres told the committee that the route and schedule of the aircraft had been arranged in advance. He added that the flights had also been supervised by both NATO and European air security organisation Eurocontrol.

In contrast, last Thursday, Defence Ministry spokesman Istvan Bocskai told the press that the ministry had no previous information about the flights.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vilmos Szabo told the committee that the ministry had received Israel's request to enter Hungarian airspace in due time. The permits were issued on the same day and promptly forwarded to the Defence Ministry, he said.

Peter Honig, the transport minister, said the flight of the Israeli jets was not fully in line with Hungarian laws, but it was not out of negligence or ill will. The minister said he would know more after a full investigation was completed.

Andras Nyitrai, a Fidesz member of the committee, said the authorities had "not taken seriously" the fly-over of the Israeli jets, despite the fact that they were reconnaissance aircraft. The national security services should not have been excluded from this matter, he added.

Gyorgy Keleti, a Socialist member, said the flight posed "a national security risk" and relevant defence authorities should have been notified.
....
Szabo said the Israeli ambassador would not be summoned in connection with the events.

The committee inquiry was initiated by its opposition Fidesz members, charging the government with negligence, to find out what kind of exercise the Gulfstream jets had carried out in the country.

A second Israeli assassination in Eastern Europe?

(WMR) -- Israel appears intent on maintaining its image as a pariah state that flouts international law in carrying out political assassinations using what many Israelis now see as a revived Mossad -- an intelligence agency that provides the same type of national self-esteem for Israelis as the Waffen SS did for German Nazis.
Israel is now suspected to using two Israel Defense Force (IDF) Gulfstream V intelligence aircraft in the skies over Budapest to assassinate Bassam Trache, a Hungarian-Syrian citizen. Trache was shot in his car by a single assassin on foot while he was stopped at a traffic light in the suburbs of Budapest. Trache’s assassin, who has not been identified, also removed a briefcase from his car.
The United States and the rest of NATO failed to respond to the Israeli aggression by using the collective defense clause that states that and attack on one NATO nation -- in this case, Hungary -- is an attack against every NATO country. In fact, there is now evidence that three NATO nations -- Turkey, Bulgaria, and Romania -- conspired with the Israelis in allowing the IDF planes to overfly their territories to complete their deadly mission in Budapest. The Turkish General Staff and Air Force Command admitted that it had granted “conditional” overflight rights to the Israelis. The conditions stated by the air force were that the aircraft had to stay within set air corridors, could not refuel in mid-air, and not be “equipped with electronic apparatuses intended for photography, exploration and intelligence.”
The Israeli aggression against Hungary follows the Mossad’s assassination in a Dubai hotel of Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh. The assassins used cloned passports from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, and Australia to enter the United Arab Emirates. The actions resulted in Britain expelling from the Israeli embassy in London the Mossad station chief and Dubai restricting the entry of Israelis into the city-state.
The Israeli incursion into Hungarian airspace took place on March 17 and Hungary’s security services claimed they were not informed that the planes were flying into Hungary. The political toll in Hungary over the incident has already resulted in the suspension of the chief of the air transport division of Hungary’s National Transport Authority (NKH) and members of his staff. Hungarian Defense Minister Imre Szekeres countered the Hungarian security services by saying the Defense Ministry had previously been informed of the Israeli aircraft “training exercise” over Budapest. However, Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai appeared to have been caught by surprise by the Israeli action and he ordered a full investigation.
Israeli Ambassador to Budapest Aliza Bin-Noun denied the Israeli planes conducted an intelligence mission even though Israel Radio reported the planes were equipped with the IDF’s most sophisticated intelligence systems. After the Dubai incident and Israel’s surprise announcement of further settlements building in east Jerusalem during Vice President Joe Biden’s visit, a number of governments are inclined to disregard Israeli diplomatic statements as lies and distortions.
There were also reports that Hungary’s Defense Ministry had not been informed of the Israeli aircraft mission. Defense Ministry spokesman Istvan Bocskai denied his ministry had been informed about the flights, while Szekeres said the Israeli flights had been cleared with NATO and the European civil aviation administration, EUROCONTROL.
According to the Hungarian MTI news agency, Peter Honig, the transport minister, said the Israeli aircraft flight was not in full compliance with Hungarian law, while Gyorgy Keleti, a Socialist MP, said the planes represented a “national security risk” to Hungary.
Bajnai, a Socialist, faces a parliamentary election on April 11 and Jewish propaganda outlets in Israel and Hungary suggested that the opposition conservative Fidesz Party was hyping the Israeli aircraft incident to cater to anti-Semitic voters. However, polls conducted before the Israeli action showed Fidesz would trounce the Socialists without any grandstanding to anti-Semitic voters.
The overflight of several eastern European countries by two Israeli F-16s on the same day the Gulfstream Vs flew over Budapest was also reported by some eastern European media outlets.
On March 24, the Hungarian newspaper Nepszabadsag reported in an editorial that the Israeli aircraft were merely flying missions to collect radar signature data on the Russian-supplied advanced radar system at Slovak Nyitra in Slovakia and other Russian-manufactured radar systems used in Bulgaria and Romania. The paper, which generally leans to a pro-George Soros and Zionist line, suggested that the Israelis were collecting radar electronic signature data on the systems because they are also used by Iran. The editorial also suggested that Israel’s operation was carried out with the knowledge of the United States.
