Alliteration in the service of mammon

I received an email at work today from a reputable pest control company bearing the remarkable headline: "Is Gull Guano Impacting on Your Profits?" I have been unable to think of much else since.

Extraordinary.

Surreal genius. I suspect a Dadaist is earning a crust for some pretentiously named ad agency.

Or perhaps the reincarnation of William S Burroughs is moonlighting as an exterminator and copywriter for your pest control company.

Wiki advises that guano is derived from Quechua: Confusedtupido:

Quote:Guano (from the Quechua 'wanu', via Spanish) is the excrement (feces and urine) of seabirds, bats, and seals

Bat shit is positively tedious next to the alliterative gull guano...
"It means this War was never political at all, the politics was all theatre, all just to keep the people distracted...."
"Proverbs for Paranoids 4: You hide, They seek."
"They are in Love. Fuck the War."

Gravity's Rainbow, Thomas Pynchon

"Ccollanan Pachacamac ricuy auccacunac yahuarniy hichascancuta."

My sentiment exactly.

But what visions it inspired. Hitchcock on acid filming a promo ad for a business school? Telegraph poles alive with seabirds defecating on large bundles of cash? Does that begin to do it justice?

We must face a surprising truth. Somewhere in the UK lurks a genius writing copy for a firm of rat killers.

What, in the novel, did Dr. No sell?

And how did he die?

And do you know what's brown and sounds like a bell?

That narrows the field nicely.

We are looking for a Germano-Chinese amputee who has no quarrel with the spectre of death by dung.

Who said this literary deduction business was rocket science?

From Alliterati Weekly:

WOOER WANTED FOR WILD, WIGGLY, WONDROUS WENCH!

Witty, well-endowed, warm-hearted wench wants worry-free, wicked, winsome weatherman with whiskers to work wonders (who's also willing to wax forth about wind sleeves, weathercocks and weather-vanes while making wild and wonderful whoopee).

Response:

Wealthy, well-endowed willy wielding weasel,
Wants wicked way with wiggly wench,
Will willingly woo and waffle if wooing wins whelk entry,
To Wonderland without waiting or wampum.

Well?
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.

Trying saying that after the ministrations of a Bishop's Finger (or two).
