Thomas Hagan was the last man still serving time in the 1965 killing, part of the skein of violence that wound through the cultural and political upheaval of the 1960s. He was freed from a Manhattan prison where he spent two days a week under a work-release program.
Hagan, 69, has repeatedly expressed sorrow for being one of the gunmen who fired on Malcolm X, killing one of the civil rights era's most polarizing and compelling figures. One of the groups dedicated to Malcolm X's memory condemned Hagan's parole.
Hagan declined to comment after his release.
"I really haven't had any time to gather my thoughts on anything," he told The Associated Press by telephone.http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=10489300

Disgusting...but expected, given that he was a 'shooter' [one of at least 8] for the Government......including JEH, among others. Meanwhile totally innocent people who are political prisoners rot in jail on death row for committing nothing, except opposition to the crimes of the State.....

Louis Farrakhan spits out his hatred of Malcolm, gushes with love for Obama. Jeremiah Wright down with Farrakhan and Obama.

That Malcolm's killer is free under Obama is no more surprising than James Earl Ray dying under Clinton; Kowalski shutting down the King case.

Jesse Jackson advanced from King's death as did Farrakhan from Malcolm's.

Peter, what's really disgusting is that Hagan named the real killers who were in on the plot with him, and they all stayed out of jail and lived long and happy lives. That and the fact that the NYPD had a man on the inside, knew what was going to go down, and did nothing. Now THAT is truly disgusting.
