Symptoms of of a sick society
#1
Yesterday was the 2nd or our brand new designated annual 'Armed Forces Days'. Parades of be medalled veterans and uniformed personnel of all types in towns and cities all over the country. The Officer Corps in their peacock-feathered finery 'taking salutes' and giving interviews about our glorious military and the sacrifices they make for 'us'. Politicians parroting them; the media - led by the BBC - doing their wall-to-wall standard sycophantic stuff.

Then today, pondering the prospects of the England/Germany World Cup soccer match the two leading tabloids from Left (Mirror) and Right (Star) we have this:

I ask you, seriously; what could the reflex of any sane person be to all this - other than to puke?

Personally I find it grossly offensive - and I mean GROSSLY - and bloody near unbelievable - but that's modern Britain and it's superior 'non-negotiable' way of life dotcha know?

Christ!! - what can you do?
