History Channel Kennedy mini series cancelled. 'Not a Fit’
#11
Tremendous effort, capital and venom is poured into the pecan pie of libel.

Americans object in their tens of thousands--or more.

The project is pulled--from just the one channel--with a huffed, "Excuse ME!"

And those Kennedy women are blamed.

The sowing of salt in the fields of Lidice has been postponed.

It was obviously such a hatchet job they decided broadcasting it would risk their credibility.

They probably depicted JFK as the prime suspect for the Vietnam fiasco, crediting the garden gnome as the relevent 'authority'.

Perhaps the History Channel will end up flogging the series on E-Bay.

See, if you read those eight scenes, its pretty clear that Surnow ordered up a hatchet job from every trash the Kennedys book ever written. From Hersh backwards to the Blairs.

ANd this is what he tried to deny when Greenwald started attacking him.

The problem for History Channel is the thing cost 30 million. So they have tried to sell it to other cable channels. But Greenwald did such a good job that the thing has a stench about it. (BTW, I do not buy the idea that the Kennedys had anything to do with it. This is just MSM BS that is always handed down in these situations. It covers their butts for not doing their jobs.)

For a major network, thirty million may not be all that much. But for a cable TV channel, it is. If no one picks it up, and it looks like no one will, then I am not sure they can make up their negative cost abroad. They will probably eat about half of it.

Greenwald did a salutary service for us all. It should serve as a model for both Hanks and DiCaprio.

Yup.

Yes - it is potentially crippling for the History Channel itself.

But not for its owners:
Quote:The channel is owned by A&E Television Networks, a joint venture of Hearst Corporation, Disney-ABC Television Group (The Walt Disney Company), and NBC Universal (General Electric).

I expect to see it dubbed into Italian. Since they keep on voting Silvio "Lolita" Berlusconi into power, one can only assume that a large part of their population expect their rulers to be degenerate.

Ultimately though, I still suspect the real reason the History Channel has pulled the Kennedy series is because it is so factually incorrect that airing it would forever destroy the brand's self-proclaimed reputation for veracity and objectivity.
