The Crisis of Civilization is the new film by Dean Puckett (The Elephant In The Room), commissioned by the Institute for Policy Research and Development (http://iprd.org.uk/) and based on interviews with international security analyst Dr. Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed regarding the research contained in his new book A User's Guide to The Crisis of Civilization.
The film investigates how the current global crises of ecological disaster, financial meltdown, dwindling oil reserves, terrorism and food shortages are converging symptoms of a single, failed global system.

Weaving together archival film footage, interviews with Nafeez Ahmed and original animations by artist Lucca Benny, The Crisis of Civilization takes you on a surreal journey through an alarming tapestry of global systemic failure. It offers a stunning wake-up call proving that another world' is not merely possible, but on its way and warns that our inability to recognise the interconnections between different crises is preventing us, as a civilization, from saving ourselves.

We consider this film a creative piece of digital activism, designed to inform and entertain. As such, the success of this film will depend not just on our efforts to distribute it, but on working together with communities everywhere to use it to educate as many people as possible about the crises we are facing, and what we can do to confront them.

Dr Ahmed is one of the world's foremost authorities in terrorism and conflict analysis. He has written and reported for a vast array of independent and mainstream news outlets, scientific journals and academic publications.
