I know, but have NOT been given permission by Jack to post such personal information here, without his permission. I'll take a chance at being a bit oblique. In a few days Jack will have some major surgery. He is expected [and I'm demanding of him] that he recovers soon and good as new. I'm sure in the few days before and certainly during and after he will not be posting on the internet - at least not on Forums. If I hear anything afterwards as to how he is, or if anyone else does, I'll post. I'm sure all of us of good will wish him the very best and to mend quickly after the operation. Yes, I know the type of operation, but am leaving that part out, for his privacy. If he feels like telling after, I'm sure he will. He has requested that during the next aprox. two-three weeks even those close to him not email him - as it will only clog up his inbox. I'm sure when he is back home and feeling up to it, we'll hear from him here on issues Deeply Political......with his usual wit and wisdom, insights and probing questions.

Best to you Jack!

I told him to enlighten the hospital staff and doctors about Dallas through 911 and all in between - as I'm sure he would have had I not suggested the same. Politically naive or conservative nurses, etc. will soon be getting quite an eduction - perhaps even the surgeons!

I'm sure those who want to post here a general wish of best of luck, and speedy recovery; he'd appreciate it on the other side of the operation, with his return to the internet.

My plumbing is clogged up. My quadruple bypass is scheduled
for Wednesday morning, 7 to 10:30. Your positive thoughts and
prayers are appreciated. I will be in the hospital for seven days.
At 84, I am just happy to still be around, thanks to the miracles
of modern medicine.

Thanks to all.

Three hours with a plumber will not be cheap!....but they do these all the time now on people your age and older. We not only wish you well again soon...we demand it! Wink Looking forward to you back here again soon!

The most relevant literature regarding what happened since September 11, 2001 is George Orwell's "1984".
