A rather dull propaganda piece by the BBC

Episode 2 can be seen here

Straight out of the Israeli PR department.

I'm amazed how this passed through the BBC's quality control checks.

I'm not. The BBC head is very pro Israel. Their coverage of the Israeli attack on Gaza a couple of years ago was simply the worst of journalism.
"The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it." Karl Marx

"He would, wouldn't he?" Mandy Rice-Davies. When asked in court whether she knew that Lord Astor had denied having sex with her.

“I think it would be a good idea” Ghandi, when asked about Western Civilisation.

I guess they haven't watched The Promise there at BBC....and if you have not...please do! A very good [VERY IMHO] docudrama of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from the viewpoint of British involvement. Can be found on internet to see or to download.
"Let me issue and control a nation's money and I care not who writes the laws. - Mayer Rothschild
"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience! People are obedient in the face of poverty, starvation, stupidity, war, and cruelty. Our problem is that grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem!" - Howard Zinn
"If there is no struggle there is no progress. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and never will" - Frederick Douglass

Agreed Magda, but to be so blatantly biased as shown in these videos did surprise me a little bit. It's not even thinly veiled.

They basically have a bunch of Mossad and IDF spokesman telling us about the "Iranian threat", followed by some random clips with the narrator saying Israel was justified in asassinating Iranian nuclear scientists in broad daylight.

Yes, Peter, an excellent movie. I hope everyone gets a chance to watch it. I note that it started life as a BBC production but they lost interest and passed it over to others....

There coverage of all things Israel and Palestinian including the flotillas has been noticably awful. There has been no pretence (and it always was a pretence) of impartiality for quite some time. However, they still try to pass themselves off as the gold standard of journalism which is a bit rich considering. They should just be the Fox News of the middle class UK since that is all they deliver now.

With regard to this propaganda offering, any deep political analysis would begin by asking the questions:

Why now?

Which broadcaster was given unprecedented access to the intelligence services?

Which journalist was given unprecedented access to the intelligence services?

Is there a resonant pattern here?
"It means this War was never political at all, the politics was all theatre, all just to keep the people distracted...."
"Proverbs for Paranoids 4: You hide, They seek."
"They are in Love. Fuck the War."

Gravity's Rainbow, Thomas Pynchon

"Ccollanan Pachacamac ricuy auccacunac yahuarniy hichascancuta."
The last words of the last Inka, Tupac Amaru, led to the gallows by men of god & dogs of war
