Is it just me or do others see a drug or mind - altered person today when Holmes was in Court?! Somehow, stress/guilt/remorse alone doesn't seem to account for his head and eye movements and other body language. Watch his forehead and neck movements. Looks like someone who just polished off a bottle of Everclear....or 'Mind-Wipe' [patent-pending].

He appears to be watching or seeing a private held narrative. He seems to be intensely involved with these scenes noting his darting eyes.
PS I wonder if he was invited to be a part of any experimental programs while at the U.

the fact that Holmes' father's company had DARPA connections and that there are U.S. Navy documents with his name on it are interesting, especially noting the military history of the rest of his family:

Their personal histories, taken from their obituaries in The Monterey County Herald, are difficult to reconcile with the most indelible image of their 24-year-old grandson.

pretty interesting lineage for a college PhD dropout with ostensibly zero military or tactical training who managed to shoot 80 people in 90 seconds with a gas mask on in a dark, smoke filled theater. high weirdness indeed...
