The shootings in the USA are simply endless. He was obviously deeply in mental anguish over feelings of rejection - something I can relate to; but to go out and kill innocent people is NOT something I can relate to. However, it is increasingly the standard way of dealing with an unhappy life in the USA. I blame, in large part, the 'values' of American society - but ultimately he [or what was once him] has to take responsibility for what happened. It is very sad that innocent persons had to die and be injured just because he was injured and wanted to die. America is a very sick society turning out many sick individuals. While I believe that many of the mass shootings in the USA may have had a mind control component, this one [at this time - subject to change with new information] seems to rather be one more closely related to the GENERAL societal 'mind control', rather than any specific operational use of that concept. The desensitization, generally, to gun violence; the use of guns and killing of others to lash out when one is injured in one's own life is rather uniquely American. In the video his manner is very odd and full of what I'd consider to be false emotion in his voice, though he likely really did feel real pain. All very strange and sad that all the prior mass shootings didn't revolt him - but rather seemed to spur him on as a model for his actions.

I'd not argue that point; however, they are even worse than that - they are anti-human and anti-life; they have become a totally artificial [in the sense of not in harmony with Nature or things natural - even human nature] and hate-filled, violent, destructive, and reveling in the destruction of life, affection, caring for others, and dare I say love....whether of other humans, other living things or positive values. I really wonder about his parents and upbringing - but the general society sometimes outweighs that of the parents. While he clearly disliked women while desiring them, he also killed men, as well.

If this boy had survived into later life he might gain wisdom with age and realize the problems he cites are minor and meaningless and might have got him out of things some people come to regret later in life. The advice to the young is not to take the stresses of youth too severely and to trust in your inner most nature. Though this kid seems to have psychological issues that would be serious at any age. If you analyze his statement he hates these "shallow stuck-up sluts" but then wants to get together with one of them too. Sounds like externalization or projecting of problems that are internal.

I was almost waiting for him to point at the camera and say "Gotcha" and laugh but he went on to solve his psychological issues with guns. All too common in America. (The US government, by the way, also solves it problems with violence and guns)

We don't have enough information yet - or I don't. On the surface it, IMO, seems to be one of the few shootings that doesn't...but that could change with new information....give it 48 hours and we'll see if he was on drugs, in therapy or meeting with strangely connected people.

The only really odd and potentially deep aspect is noted here:

Apparently, Mr. Rodger's "motive video" (the horrible acting job he did) was up on YouTube for at least 4 days prior to the shooting and it had been published on Reddit which garnered it a hell of a lot of attention. And no one did nothing?
You try posting a video on YouTube promising to kill sorority girls at your local campus and see how long it takes YouTube to yank the video and guys in tactical gear to show up at your front door.

A comment at the willyloman site quotes a 5/24 report from rt:

Witnesses described the occupants of a black BMW as involved in the seemingly random shootings in this college town early Saturday morning.
The victims include an individual who was shot dead inside a deli, while another fatality occurred near a 7-11 convenience store.
Kelly Hoover, public information officer with the Sheriff's office, confirmed that a second suspect has been apprehended.

"We can't confirm this is a secure location. If you're in Isla Vista, please shelter in place. If you're thinking about coming here, please do not," said Hoover.

Note the phrase "shelter in place" which was first introduced in the Boston Marathon black op.

People are already saying this on facebook. Calling those killed actors. Makes me sick.
I think sadly this is one kid who flipped out. His family had a welfare check on him.
But he was able to convince police he was ok.
