RIP. Sad news but 106 is a fantastic innings. Few of us lead lives that long or leave behind such a genuinely inspirational legacy.
As an aside, I think the "British Schindler" tag is somewhat insulting personally. Given that Oskar Schindler is known primarily through Spielberg's fairytale version of the Holocaust and that the Liam Neeson character from that film bears scant resemblance to a man who was in reality of questionable morality and motive. In a fair, balanced world frauds the like of Schindler and Wiesenthal should be completely eclipsed by Winton, who was extremely modest and acted only out of a sense of human decency.
It speaks volumes that of the three names I typed in that last sentence, my spell-checker only picked up 'Winton' as an error...
