I see from the other photos that the little square bulge under the gun cannot be something in Day's pocket. My original thought was that it might be a piece of one of the buckles on the strap; however, the bulge doesn't appear to match a buckle location on the other photos either.
To me, the strap appears different in the "hall parade" than it does in the pictures from Dealy Plaza. You wouldn't guess the DPD would adjust the strap while the gun was in evidence...
The original photo fairly clearly shows no bottom mount bracket for the leather strap, which means it also appears different from the BYP. I know some of the Carcanos came with both bottom and side brackets, to change the position of the strap, but how difficult is it to move the bracket from one site to the other?
