In a move of astonishing boldness, Liverpool Football Club's American owner, the Fenway Sports Group, has signed an ageing, perma-tanned German porn star, Herr Klapp, as a replacement for Brenda Rogers, the sacked hairdresser.
Mr Klapp, hailed by one senior US executive as "the big one in European quarter-backing," has promised to go through the current Liverpool squad like a dose:
